Landowners in groundwater-regulated parts of Pinal and Maricopa counties can now get "savings credits" in exchange for retiring farmland. The new ag-to-urban program will become law in Arizona in Sep, and run for 10 years.

On my 2nd visit to Nogales, Sonora, when I started working as a border reporter for the Arizona Republic, I met a man who provided medical care to recently deported migrants or newly arrived asylum seekers. He gave me a card for his ambulance service: Panchito y su Cristina.
