Ok I can't take any news today. I've been having a lovely day doing my new 🧩 jigsaw puzzle on Jane Austen. I am reading more fiction now too. Not sure if I can get through 4 years like this but the alternative has become exhausting.

Taken by my son as his plane descended into Burbank airport a little while ago. He reports a hellscape on the ground with high winds, trees down everywhere, street lights flickering on and off, power outages, smoke and ash. He made it home safely to Reseda. Praying for the safety of all tonight.

It took most of my life to realize how trauma has affected me. My nervous system developed differently as a very young child to handle the trauma I was dealing with. The hypervigilance describes me perfectly. Always on guard to protect myself and family.
