About time I got a second series running over on RR. Available starting today, this is a story I'm enjoying writing so much.

#CoverReveal? Yes, cover reveal!

Baconstrap's done an amazing job on this cover for my upcoming dark fantasy novel. And the folks at Podium have been a joy to work with in getting this cover to where it is now.

If there's something to be taken from the Superman movie, it's how accurate its depiction of the outrage machine really is.

Decided on some home-made decorations as I prepare to change up some rooms in my home.

Holy crap... I've finished 3 books of my angry sorceress story. Feels a bit surreal, but that word count doesn't lie. 450K words... and we're barely past the halfway point.

I've been a Soul Reaver 2 fan since 2001. It's in my Top 5 games of all time.
But even so, I have to admit that Soul Reaver 1 is the better game of the two. By quite a bit. Like with many old games, I can only wonder how amazing this game would have been if the devs could've achieved their vision.

I have reached a much expected point in my life as a dad.

I've started reading The Hobbit to my son. And he's enjoying it and asking questions.

Reading to him has been one of the greatest things I've ever done as a dad, and seeing him so excited for every new book just floors me.

Nothing does quite as much for the writing inspiration as an early morning walk in the park with the assorted canine companion.

One of those photos that just screams '90s former soviet block.

This old thermal station was our old playground area in the mid-90s.

New cook book has arrived. My kid’s about to be a very spoiled 5yo getting home made cakes.

I'm actually really happy to see AstroBot winning GOTY this year. Watching my son play this was like looking back at myself in 1995, playing Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and all the other bundled games for the first time on a NES.

We need more games like Astro Bot, not more wallet guzzlers.

SR 2 is my favorite game of all time. System Shock 2 and Bloodborne gave it a run for its money, but the throne is still unchallenged.

I can't wait to dive into these remasters tonight.

I'm an old fart gamer at heart... but Tomb Raider 3 kicked my ass when I was a wee lad. It was a game that managed to put me off 3rd person adventure titles for a long, long time.

Coming back to the series with the Remastered edition and fresh control has allowed me to see the treasure hidden under

Gotta say, a Marsupilami themed coffee shop wasn't what I expected to find on my trip to Greece.

Coffee was great tho.

A choice was made back in 1999.

And I'm still playing the original UT to this day.

I've read quite a few great novels these years, but these 9 stood head and shoulders above the rest in 2024.

What were your favorite reads of the year?
December 3, 2024 at 7:09 PM
I've had an excellent gaming year. Maybe the best I've ever enjoyed.

I know the SR Remaster isn't out yet, but it will be up there regardless. SR 2 is Top 5 all time games for me for a reason.

To have played (and replayed) such games this year has reminded me how enjoyable gaming can be.

I'm 3 books away from completing my 2024 reading challenge over on GoodReads, and I think I'm in a for a very fun December in terms of reading.

A big reason why I'm way way into retro gaming is that I miss enjoying games without worrying about various levels of discourse surrounding them. Modern gaming feels often too cynical for me and it's becoming hard to just sit down and enjoy something for its own sake.

Plus, 30 years of backlog.

We need more games like Astro Bot, with pitch perfect difficulties curves for kids. My son had a blast playing this, and I enjoyed every moment where he handed me the gamepad to help him across some more precise platforming.

We really need more games like this. One of my GsOTY for sure.
