The historic Cavell Van is returning to Dover for this Remembrance season, thanks to South Eastern Railway and the Port of Dover. It will be open between 10.00 and 16.00 on Friday-Sunday November 7-9 and 14-16.

A lovely selection of light railway layouts at this year’s Uckfield model railway show. Had a great day flying the flag for the Colonel Stephens Society and chatting with many friends and acquaintances.

Been a bit of a trammy sort of day in Brussels to celebrate world car-free day. With more excellent local cuisine (and brews) to finish.

Cracking first day at the Bala Lake Railway’s summer gala. From goods trains and visiting loco to ‘race the train’ with a vintage tractor and then the staff & volunteer barbecue special in the evening. A long and tiring day but hugely enjoyable.

A most enjoyable day at Epsom & Ewell MRC yesterday. We had our big (still unfinished) P4 layout of Wadhurst out for an operating session. Interesting visitors ranged from a Somerset & Dorset branch local to a set of GWR 70ft Fishguard boat train stock that could never have got there in real life!

Monday morning visit to see Dad. Bit of a hot day, so we are just chilling listening to some music.
