According to a new court filing, the Trump administration has a six-page list of banned words that Head Start locations are forbidden from using when describing their programs.
Among the censored words: "disability," "race," "women," "trauma," "Gulf of Mexico." Short thread with the full list. 🧵

Various outlets are talking about the death of DOGE, and how it failed. First of all, of course it failed to find savings,it was a Trump /Musk idea. Second its goal was three fold.1. Terrorize the federal worker. 2.Terrorize the grant recipient community. 3. Grab all the data. In that it succeeded.

I'm so disappointed in my senator, voting for this bill. My rep has already said she's a no. Hopefully the HoR says no, and we can get ACA credits back. Otherwise we're doing this all again in January.

ICE isn’t going after the worst of the worst. This morning, they took a preschool teacher without a warrant IN FRONT OF CHILDREN in my district.

Just wondering.
Anyone else wondering where to get a working gas mask? ICE just purchased massive amounts of chemical weapons. Leadership living on military bases. People being disappeared.

WTF?!

And FYI- ICE is zip tying kids together when they invade apartment complexes. ZIPTIES. KIDS. what assholes.

Those of you that are current federal workers, I feel for you. I'm not getting paid either, but at least I don't have to work for this mother f-ing administration. Hopefully this will be a short one.

Still here, still getting paid and full benefits while we wait for the 9th circuit court to rule. If I was working, I'd sign the letter urging Congress to negotiate a CR that includes increased funding for the ACA. Go ahead and shut down.

Yesterday the Supreme Court ruled the firings to continue until lower courts determine if they are legal. However, I work in the Office of Head Start, which has an additional lawsuit waiting in a lower court. I don't know how long this will take to play out, but I'm still getting paid. Efficiency.

Just finished reading this book and thought this line was perfect for our time.

Still on administrative leave. They appealed to the Supreme Court and asked for an emergency ruling. We still have not heard anything.
On a similar note though, dept. Of education staff are being called back to work. He's at the finding out stage of this process. Happy No Kings Day tomorrow!!!

Updates: 1)The people of Flint are skeptical too.
2) A judge gave an injunction against Trump on the RIF'D employees. We will get likely get called back, after appeals. For now we stay on administration leave probably past June 2.

Interesting news story. I'm in Michigan on a short vacation, and the news announces that Flint has met all the federal requirements to lift EPA restrictions on its water supply. Is that true, I r is it the administration getting rid of pesky regulations? If any here is from Fli t I'd be interested

The cuts are on a 2 week hiatus, a judge ruled against Trump. It will be interesting if all of us were reinstated some day. We think admin leave may be extended for a while and termination will be delayed. May 23 is the next date to watch.

By now you know I'm out of federal service, involuntarily. I think I've pretty well documented the toxic work environment we all had to deal with. Turns out there is a law firm putting together a class action suit against Elonia for us.
The funny ? Thing is i was going to take a buy out.

Well, I know I've been quiet here for awhile. I'll gather my thoughts and write soon. But first to start, any questions I can try to answer?

I am still traumatized from being RIFd. This was completely unexpected, political, inhumane.
I love this job and the program I supported. What a way to end a career.
April 13, 2025 at 1:02 PM
We all got RIFd today. I packed up and I'm on my way home. The whole Chicago office of HHS. Not an April fools joke.
April 1, 2025 at 2:40 PM
The day started with our supervisor coming to each person, reminding us not yo leave computers unsecured. 'Auditors' were in the DC office firing people on the spot for infractions. THEN, an hour later we get the press release that HHS is reorganizing and laying people off, starting tomorrow.
