I asked the rabbi, how late is too late to make reparations? 70 years? and he replied, “truly I say unto you, that even 70 times 70 years is not too late…”

So your solution is just … never, then?

It’s such a perfect encapsulation of how the right drives American media cycles that slightly-too-long school closures are still considered a huge liability for democrats while murdering hundreds of thousands of people with anti-vaxx propaganda is never mentioned as a downside of Republican rule.

“I’m not arguing”

“You’re a moron”

…do you need to lie down?

You’ve been blocked off this post. You claim you’re not arguing and don’t care who’s right. Have the day you deserve

You fight hard for someone not arguing. Look up Terri’s Law. Both this woman in GA and Terri are unserved by the public litigating their cases.
May 21, 2025 at 5:17 PM
I got here because you first said Terri Schaivo wasn’t brain dead and then said (twice!!) that “no law” governed her case. But sure, there’s lots I don’t understand, as well.
May 21, 2025 at 5:06 PM
“No law” just ringing around in my head. I am old enough to remember they called it Terri’s Law and then it was deemed unconstitutional because you can’t do a law about just one woman.
May 21, 2025 at 12:26 PM
I’m honestly sorry if you haven’t heard of it. It was actually called Terri’s Law.

This is about all of us. You cannot use corpses or any person’s body without their permission. Only the person designated gets the right of decisions in their care.
May 21, 2025 at 12:20 PM
Terri schiavo’s husband had absolute right to decisions in her care and was denied that by republicans, the government of florida, and public opinion. Any and every family member of the woman doesn’t get the right to the decisions. The person she designated does. That was Terri’s entire case.
May 21, 2025 at 12:18 PM
They’re alike in that repubs want to keep their body function for other purposes than their consent. Which was what was commented, and then you stipulated Terri wasn’t brain dead. Which she was. Her husband had every right to decisions in her care and public opinion & repubs took that from him.
May 21, 2025 at 12:15 PM
If this woman was declared dead she is dead. I don’t argue that, it’s terrible what GA is doing. Terri Schiavo’s brain stem worked but she had Cerebrum death. It was terrible what her other family and FL did. Both women are unserved by the public’s misunderstanding that they should be involved.
May 21, 2025 at 12:09 PM
Not understanding brain death is how we got to where we got to. If you don’t understand it by now I’m unable to help you.

The autopsy revealed her brain was half its normal size. The occipital lobes were damaged, resulting in cortical blindness (no “balloon following” occurred). There was no evidence of abuse at all. Michael schiavo got his nursing degree to care for her. She was brain dead and Michael was right.

It would only make sense if she were in late-term pregnancy and they just needed to keep her on life-support long enough to stabilize her condition and induce labour.

But keeping her on life support for the full term of her pregnancy because she was 9 weeks gone is a dystopian nightmare.
