It’s the parts that are being used by the gangs selling the boat trips. Majority of the parts are coming from china so the PM is trying to restrict supply to the gangs.

I think what everyone wants to know is what’s Andy Burnham view on labours red lines and does he see us looking to rejoin at least the single market.
January 25, 2026 at 10:01 AM
There is a lot of us Brits who see how weak Brexit has made us. The problem is none of the politicians want to talk about it.

Even when we do it would be years long progress of joining. Which given the present issues even if we were to start to rejoin today we wouldn’t happen for years.

Unfortunately I don’t see the Labour Government changing their red lines until the next election.

As much as I would like to see a Norway style single market arrangement I don’t see it happening they have dug their feet in
January 18, 2026 at 7:53 PM
The Labour government tried to negotiate it in the reset last year but was blocked by Spain and Italy.
January 2, 2026 at 10:43 PM
If they keep that attitude they will definite be out come the next election.

Except some of us in long term relationships with an EEA national are as they will loose their settle status after a few years so we are trapped. I can’t move to their home country (Norway). We are stuck.

Only to ireland a single country with arguably worse weather than the UK…

Without Brexit we would have been able to with 31 countries under freedom of movement.
August 28, 2025 at 2:43 PM
Not forgetting Ireland is a member of the EU so will have a say. I don’t believe the Irish want to be in Schengen. And wanting to protect NI and the GFA it’s better the UK is in the EU like Ireland after the mess Brexit has caused for NI.
August 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM
I agree on Schengen the fact we have a CTA with Ireland who arnt in Schengen we wouldn’t be able to join it.

The euro you don’t join on day one only when aligned and ready just look at Poland after 20 years of membership.

I have an air to air heat pump that’s a split system one unit outdoors feeds 3 indoors and it covers the whole house with heat and cooling. It’s great and was cheaper than the wet heat pumps.

We need to join the single market as a minimum. The effects of Brexit is now starting to be clear in our economic performance.
August 7, 2025 at 4:24 PM
Not disagreeing that the U.K. would have to work towards Euro. My point being it’s not a day one joining and only when both the country and all Euro states are happy and ready. Poland is still working towards it 20 years later.
August 4, 2025 at 11:49 AM
They still joined in having to commit to it. My point being is you don’t at day one and there is no major push to force a country to. It’s only when it’s ready and even then needs all Euro states to agree.
August 4, 2025 at 11:19 AM
Just look at Poland been an EU member for 20 years still hasn’t adopted the euro.
August 4, 2025 at 10:56 AM
That will be difficult especially considering Gibraltar is a tax heaven and high net worth people are given residency. I assume it will apply to them.
July 21, 2025 at 9:51 PM
As someone with a UK passport frequently visiting the EU for short trips I am a bit worried if it gets mixed up between the two systems. What if I enter by an stamp port but exit by an EES port how will it know and what will the boarder officer say when time I visit 😳

Another pain of Brexit
July 21, 2025 at 7:25 PM
However I do see visitors having to meet Schengen rules when flying in Gibraltar will be good for them as it will mean they can easily go to Spain for the day without any reservations for hotels etc - a problem for non EU citizens visiting Gibraltar
July 21, 2025 at 7:10 PM
For example someone landing in Malaga with a residency permit for Gibraltar are they stamped/EES what will happen as they cross to Gibraltar if there is no boarder.
July 21, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Having been there Brexit has had terrible consequences to people of Gibraltar. I can see why they are looking for this. But as the article says it’s not joining Schengen so I would say we won’t know how it will fully work until the full details are known
July 21, 2025 at 7:07 PM
I actually went to Gibraltar this weekend having seen it and the fact they have a Morrisons stocked with UK food I’m not sure how they will be affected.
Also I do note nothing has been said about UK citizens getting residency in Gibraltar as that is possible for UK citizens.
July 21, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Lib Dem’s should just stick to their manifesto pledge to rejoin the single market.
July 12, 2025 at 4:03 PM
A lettuce lasted longer than her. No one in the U.K. takes much notice of Liz Truss; but sadly she goes around the world giving these speeches to try and keep herself relevant. It’s just embarrassing
June 1, 2025 at 9:20 PM
They always have a reason to blame something else rather than accept Brexit has been a failure
