Abortion is a real issue for the religious right, and they’re currently the most powerful voting bloc in the country. Your overall point and the rest is correct, but as an exvangelical, I’m always floored by how much people underestimate the genuineness of the anti-abortion religious right.

…were liars and frauds who don’t actually believe anything that they preach. I was taught a lot of really good values and morals, but evangelicals all jettisoned them for power. It’s a very anti-Jesus community that rejects the fundamental teachings of the man they profess to follow.
