I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

Beyond the dedicated workers who lost their jobs today, this will have a significant impact on severe weather and hurricane forecasting. 🙁
It's interesting how headlines about the NOAA firings don't express the urgency and massive impact.
Weather balloons are normally launched 2x/day, or more. Alaska stations gather data on incoming large systems over the Pacific that gives the rest of the country a heads up to larger weather events.

I’ve been mostly alcohol free for the last year and it’s worked for well for me. I feel and sleep much better.
Minus the occasional Guinness, I rarely drink. Alcohol is terrible for you and the third-leading preventable cause of cancer. Credit to the Surgeon General for saying that out loud and recommending warning labels on bottles. Increased awareness will save lives and help people enjoy in moderation.
