Dude, I'm just stupid as rocks and I draw sometimes
To answer you, cause idk if anyone has, that's a drop bear! They hang upside down in areas and will drop on you to attack/ambush.

They drop their claws when killed and are in several biomes, but mainly that rose quartz one if I recall correctly :D

(Sorry for the Yap i love the baby so much and I am genuinely so thankful that I got to play the opportunity to help continue his story)

In a way, the early end to Aetherium was the best/happiest outcome for Vox.

He never lost a battery. He never died. And he still lives in my heart <3

The final plan was for Vox to be one of the only people who could *not* be saved from Aetherium. Because his code was embedded into the world/server itself, He had to be left behind when Aetherium ended.

He would have to die alone in the server, but he would have died happy with his memories ;v;

And I can tell you about 2 more vox events that were possibly going to happen!

- Talula and Violet figuring out that Vox was part of the server, and attempting to pull his codes out to save him from the end. It would have resulted in his corruption/death, and for Vox to lose a battery. (+)

The next step was going to be a series of trials and puzzles to see if people cared about him! I had a secret room under my basement that was built to be an escape room with tons of lore and information about Vox.

It was made to prove that people would put in the effort for him but oh well ;v; (+)

The final thing I had began exploring with Vox before the server went to shit was the question:

"What happens when an AI whos purpose is to make others happy begins to realize that he wants to be happy as well"

Which led to Vox reaching out to his Pai, Samael, about how he missed him ;v; (+)

I wanted him to ask questions. Be curious and wonder why humans act in such silly ways that make no sense to a logical, robotic mind.

I wanted him to explore what trauma would look like to a robot. To question why people could just "die" and leave him when others could respawn from death. (+)

You have no idea how happy this makes me. Considering that I went in with nothing, I just kind of threw a rock in the darkness and hoped that it hit something.

I wanted Vox to be a child. Something oblivious to the world around him and the complexities of humanity. Something silly and scared. +

(Im adding this one because if I don't, I WILL forget )

This video is one that I watched during one of my late-night deep dives into researching for Vox! It heavily influenced how I viewed him, and how I acted as him. If you like video essays, plz enjoy it

This ending was chosen for multiple reasons.

I wanted people to grieve him. To think about how he tried so hard for others only to be doomed in the end. To think about how they treated him.

It was also done to parallel his arrival to the server. He woke up alone. He would die alone. He accepted it

Vox was destined to die.

Vox was just lines of code embedded into the simulation itself as a surveillance program (though this never went anywhere), and the downfall of the simulation meant his downfall as well. Even if others escaped, he would have to be left behind and would die alone.

Two of those ended up shaping the majority of his character in the 2nd half of ASMP:

The attempted murders taught him to be cautious. Don't trust anybody because they don't care *about* your situation.

And the Death of A!Angel. When he died, Vox vowed to be just like him and to make him proud
