It seems farfetched, but I wish people knew how many people I've seen go from "Diapers are so weird" to squatting behind the couch.
It's the whole "the loudest homophobes are closeted" effect. They're especially vocal because something about it is working for them, and that scares 'em.

All this to say I don't think my mom meant any harm, she just wanted to make sure I was prepared for when I became an adult.

But I can't help but feel I never got any time to just be...little. To just be carefree and not worry so much about things.
I was always a pretty anxious kid, but being pushed into independence so quickly did NOT help my crumbling mental health lmao

She always pushed me to look after myself in any way I could. I'm pretty sure I was maybe seven when I started using the stove on my own--
When I was sitting down thinking about it I think it may have all been too fast for me. I'm glad I can handle myself now, sure-
