This Day in Labor History: March 25, 1911. 146 workers at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City died when the building in which they worked caught on fire. Let's talk about the horrors of the Triangle Fire, what changed, and what remains the same 114 years later (mostly it's all the same)

Building inspectors fined them for lining up the sewing machines so close that “the girls when seated would have no space to move about or leave their places without all getting up together.”

I finished my Liza top from @taukomagazine.bsky.social Issue no. 2. Not bad for my first top! Sometimes I regret not sewing clothes sooner, but I remind myself I learned to sew as a teen and back then I NEVER would’ve had the patience to make stuff like this. Better late than never!
