the white coloured pencil is honestly OP if you know how to use it. you can use it as mentioned with the white crayon, to keep white spaces white, but you can also use it as a base layer to lighten the colour you put on top of it!! this is great for clouds, light, semitransparent things, you name it

The white crayon is the BEST ONE IN THE BOX because it keeps the white parts white!! plus you can use it as a blender if you're using it on light colours, but that's a bit tricky so it's not commonly known. also, if you strip the top layer of wax from the rest of the drawing, you can use it as (1/2)
