Her mind drifts off, where it always does, to the Garlean fortifications surrounding her home of Bozja. A younger Clove, dressed in the gear of a Bozjan resistance fighter, stands under the moonlight on a cobbled street. Dark shades surround her, crowding the sidewalks, looking at her, pointing, staring. They whisper amongst themselves - it's her her fool should have...when she had the chance her your fault to blame failrue Clove looks down the narrow Bozjan street, at a figure in white disappearing around the far corner. She tries to reach for her, begins to step forward. The moon grows large in the sky. The shadowed figures continue to gather, their whispering growing louder and more insistent. fool fraud monster it's HER her coward Rose killer Clove She runs down the dark street, the figure staying just out of reach at the next corner, trying to shout, but unable to make any noise. it's HER waste hate HER SHAME done SOMETHING HER CLOVE KILLER, MONSTER HER FAULT think she is...? Panel 6 - Clove pushes up her glasses and pinches the bridge of her nose. "Gunnhildr's tits, damn it all... Guess I'll sleep in Pearl Lane tonight then." Full-page pencil sketch. The driver raps on the edge of the carriage to get Clove's attention, who sits up, blearily rubbing at her eyes, hair tousled. "Up you get, Clove, if you're wanting paid. And, uh... watch your step, ok?"
