In November, some birds move away, and some birds stay. The air is full of good-byes and well-wishes. — Cynthia Rylant

A bit more of London from my photo archives. I just recently noticed my reflection in a window while taking a photo. Felt like I was back there for a moment.

Spotted while on a solo roam around London circa 2009. I have visited a few times over many years, and it's still one of my favourite cities in the world. That and British detective dramas.

Monday morning with Fausto. Oh, to be a cat. I wish that I could sleep like that.

On one of several solo visits, wandering in New Orleans back in 2009. A wonderfully haunted city, particularly in the French Quarter. I ran into Anne Rice, the author of Interview With A Vampire, in one of the cemeteries. A memorable experience in many ways.

You never know who you'll find on a trail. If I hadn't looked up I would have missed seeing this Great Blue Heron on the water's edge of the lagoon. I almost fell in taking this photo.

It’s going to come out all right—do you know?
The sun, the birds, the grass—they know.
They get along—and we’ll get along. -Carl Sandburg

Remembering Ren and Stimpy, my two rescue cats from the streets of Manhattan. They both passed away in Vancouver in 2017. You will always be loved, my babies. You will always be missed.

The night silently folds down through lilac clouds with bright jewels lighting its way, leaving us in the past as it leads us to another day. A moment has come and gone.

Happy Weekend! And here's Fausto, the peeking puss, who thinks he's hiding.

Yesterday, down at the lagoon, there was a busy convention of ducks and geese. It's good to see the water has recovered from a dense infestation of algae that had spread out far and wide. Their conversations were a delight to hear, and it's wonderful to have them back again, all the wee dinosaurs.

Got up for a minute at 6:48 a.m. today. A magical moon was ushering in the beginning of another day. Timing is indeed everything.

I discovered this tile hanging from a tree yesterday. Agreed, but you could also say a cat or any other animal, for that matter. They are often the best relatives of all.

Two new mini dinosaur pals from the other day. They never fail to bring me a spot of joy on my walks and always remind me that timing is everything. I had seen three young raccoons and a skunk close up earlier this week when I changed direction at the last minute. You never know what wonder awaits.

Sometime in the night, an elusive light comes flashing by
A four a.m. picture, reflections in an eye, and fantasy haunts soft illusion with a sigh. The stars know secrets; they know them well in the hushed dark places where they fell, and
quiet faces never tell.

“The world is beautiful and dangerous, and joyful and sad, and ungrateful and giving, and full of so, so many things. The world is new and it is old. It is big and it is small. The world is fierce and it is kind, and we, every one of us, are in it.”
― Mark Twain

Duck symbolism is rich and varied, generally representing adaptability, emotional balance, harmony, and family. Their ability to navigate both water and air symbolizes a transition between the spiritual and physical realms, as well as knowledge and hidden truths.
