I’ve noticed a new feature on X (formerly known as Twitter) that shows where an account is based.

For the record, I was in the Republic of Ireland last month visiting relatives, which is why I connected my phone to various wifi networks in Ireland, so I could save some of my data roaming allowance.

Aintree Coachline has added a new 85-seat Alexander Dennis Enviro400 for a Merchant Taylors’ School contract. Built in Scarborough, it is the firm’s 11th Alexander Dennis bus and will also support private hire as the operator approaches its 40th anniversary.

First Bus plans to end all services in Cornwall by February 2026, blaming high costs, falling passenger numbers and rising competition. About 275 jobs are at risk. The company will operate as normal until mid-February while a transition is arranged.

The Mayor of London and TfL plan to pedestrianise central Oxford Street, removing general traffic and rerouting buses, including routes 7, 94, 98, 139 and 390, via Wigmore Street and Henrietta Place. Emergency access stays, and work could start in 2026.
