Specifically, the Sicherheitsdienst (SD), originally founded as the Nazi party's security service but folded into the general SS. Pictured: SD sergeant Josef Blösche during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943. Note the black collar patches and SD rhombus on the left sleeve.
