isn’t a huge part of being a leftist being able to dream bigger? we don’t settle for a social safety net as our only liberation from capitalism. why should we settle for a far right, anti-woman, pro-rape militia as Palestine’s only means of liberation? shouldn’t there be hope for something better?

i’m talking about hamas because we’re commenting under Mamdani’s statement about protesters who were chanting about hamas. in general, i agree that the conversation should be focused on israel’s actions. i’m not missing the forest for the trees; this conversation is just about the trees.

i agree with you! israel has acted violently and sadistically since its inception. overall, israel is the real aggressor in this conflict.
however, i will not “forget about hamas” when they are the topic of conversation. the point is religious fundamentalists are not fit to be political leaders.

i get that, but i feel like if hamas wins, the result is just another far-right theocracy. someone needs to be resisting israeli occupation, but it needs to NOT be hamas. hamas tortures and rapes innocents just like the IDF does. they are not our friend.
