Over the last couple of days, I’ve met or been contacted by several people who, while disappointed that I lost, were happy that they’d been able to get behind a principled, community based, campaign.6/7

Considering the pressure everyone was put under to “Vote Labour to Stop Reform” over the last couple of weeks of the campaign, I’d especially like to thank all the 1,482 people who voted for me, nearly 300 more than the Labour candidate. Negative campaigning rarely works.5/7

Thanks again to everyone who helped me during the campaign, delivering leaflets and knocking on doors. I’m proud of the positive campaign we ran, speaking to hundreds of people on the doorstep and across the town over the last few weeks.4/7

I want him to make sure that the new administration at County Hall do not sell off important assets like our Sarah Thorne Theatre and others like the #PieFactory in #Ramsgate and the #Millmead Children’s Centre in Margate.3/7

To start with, well done to John Finch on his victory. There are a lot of important decisions to be made that affect our town and, as Chair of the Town Council, it’ll be important to work with him to do what’s best for us all.2/7
