Councillor for Bishopston and Ashley Down and Green Group leader on Bristol City Council. Transport geek. Loves trams and dogs. She/her
Cllr Crawford admiring the new EV chargers on Springfield Ave in our ward. Very few houses have driveways in our ward so this creates another incentive for people to switch to EVs, discouraging people from getting rid of front gardens.

Happy Halloween 🎃 hope you woke lefties have a good day continuing to terrify all the Reform voters.

I really enjoyed the tram!

Excellent fact finding trip to Nottingham to see how they have improved their transport and public realm. inspiring to learn about how their workplace parking levy has funded an extra tram route, hoe they’ve laid on more buses and improved active travel. Also got to go on Vicky McClure’s tram! 🚈

There the five at the top, but I haven’t seen them get much use as of yet but hopefully that will changes people learn about them and then if there is demand we can ask for more to be added.

How can anyone be mad at this? is a little cut through road line with parked cars really better? I spoke to the coffee shop last week and they said their trade had doubled.

So The week before far right protests are planned in cities across the UK. The Labour Party decide to ramp up their anti/immigration rhetoric. No mention of protecting vulnerable Asylum seekers under threat from protesters. Just stoking division and cosplaying Reform. Slow handclap.

This guy sums up my feelings.

Delighted that Overton Road pedestrianisation scheme is almost finished! As a local resident, I remember filling in the consultation. So nice to see a side road, barely used except for parking and as a cut through, now been turned into a lovely bit of public realm. Trees will be planted soon!

For those wittering on about how Glastonbury festival shouldn’t ‘be political’, and it was better when it was ‘ just a music festival’, my university dissertation circa 2001 is available in no good bookshops.

Interrupting your doom scrolling about all the awfulness to let you know that it’s my Dog’s 5th birthday today. 🥳🥳🥳

I’m sure there will be more, sadly I think we’ll be fighting this for a while. I was really impressed by the turnout though.

Also, how satisfying is the pre-timed Max?! getting a green man within a few seconds in order to cross busy Ashley Down Road!

Enjoyed meeting with our local police this morning on Ashley Down Road and Ralph Road, with the speed monitor. Both these roads have terrible issues with speeding. Letters will be sent to all those who were speeding. We’re also going to set up a community speed watch team with residents. #20isPlenty

Thanks to Great Western Hearts ambulance for our training in CPR and defib use today. Having Defibrillators available in our communities and people trained in using them is a life-saving measure and I urge all Councillor to do this vital training.

Really proud of the Green Group this evening, passing our first budget in administration. Four amendments accepted. 2 from Lib Dem’s, 2 from Labour. Dispute Labour not voting for the amended budget it passed anyway. A proud moment! 💚💚💚

Today we raised the Sudanese flag at half mast outside City Hall. To honour the national day of Sudan on the 1st of January, but also in recognition of the victims lost to the ongoing war there. Sudanese Green Cllr Mohamed Makawi and other members of Bristol’s Sudanese community gave speeches. 🇸🇩💚

Turns out climbing a mountain in Wales is a good way to burn off a five day diet of port and panettone.

Fantastic news. We love ours in Bristol. Had one put into our ward last year, and looking to add more next year.

Last night I attended a vigil for the women and girls of Sudan, along with our Green Cllr Mohamed Makawi, who gave a powerful speech highlighting the plight of these women. Sexual violence is a weapon of war is a stain on humanity. 🇸🇩💚🕊️
