💙 Thank you everyone who signed our petition.

We have exceeded the required number of signatories to trigger a debate at City Hall.

Behind the scenes there have been lots of meetings and discussions to find a way forward.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for an early Christmas present this year.

I’ve been talking to a local resident and architect about his ideas for the wide junction near Tarr’s and this Sat 22 Nov he’ll be on site to explain his vision and to see if people like it or not.

Your councillors will also be there to answer any questions about this, or any other local issues.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning.

We will remember them.

A very moving list of the names and addresses of some of the young men of Brislington who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Great War. There will be an Act of Remembrance at the Bath Road Brislington War Memorial on Armistice Day next Tuesday 11th November from 10:45am. Lest We Forget.

🔵 Great to meet the team at Bristol Blue Glass.

🔵 Sadly, they have to leave their premises next year and can’t find a new home. If you know any sites, get in touch.

🔵 Bristol without Bristol Blue Glass would be like Bristol without balloons or Banksy.

🚌 Great news! Free travel on the 36 bus between St Anne’s and Highridge via Brislington, Knowle, Knowle West, Hengrove Park, Hartcliffe & Withywood starts today, ends 9 Nov. The bus launched in April 2025 via BCC’s CAZ funding to provide additional public transport to an underserved area.

A great evening at City Hall at a Meet the Councillors event with Lib Dem colleagues. Interesting presentations, lots of great questions in the Council Chamber, and a chance to try on the Lord Mayoral robes in the Parlour. Hopefully there were a few future councillors in the audience tonight!

A willow near Sparke Evans bridge was pollarded last week. The tree officer said an ecologist has assessed this work and no concerns were raised in relation to any potential impact on protected species and/or habitat loss. A valuable deadwood habitat has also been created nearby.

I have reported this carelessly discarded e-bike in Sparke Evans Park to DOTT and asked them to collect it.
