Do we know how much Villa contribute towards his wages during the loan period? He can't play for another club until the window after next, and LFC would add a larger sum to their wage bill if they take him back. Would he get minutes? Do you think there is even a slight possibility of this happening?

Since how you say things on the pod seems to be on the agenda here: There are no silent e's in Dutch, the Dutch g-sound is probably not worth even trying, but Lamare Bogarde (simplified) = lah-MAA-rə bo-GAR-də. Lucas Digne = ly-ka deenʲ, the slight j-sound at the end makes all the difference.

Agree with John on camera angles, important! But I feel his opinion is one of a person who watches the game back, or highlights, having been at the ground. Watching whole games with a lower camera position on TV is NOT good. You can't see the passing angles, or spaces, f's the whole experience up!

I’ll settle for an honest attempt! If you get one half right it would be a slight improvement on an already great product. Also it would be more effort put in than some other podcast hosts. Bardell, for one, is absolutely shocking with his Youri ”TILLEMENS”.

I felt that message from Craig (I think his name was?). When you hear that your work means so much to someone, you know you've accomplished a lot, take that in, the both of you. I don't have his diagnosis, but your pod is the best way for me to be part of the Villa fandom, from Sweden. It's great!

Excellent piece. The real question is whether Emery is willing to be more flexible and evolve his core tactical principles. If he isn’t, simply refreshing the squad may not be enough. We dare not think about life at Villa after Emery, but too much autonomy can become dangerous in the long term.

The ”useful” you are talking about equals money. Step away from the money, in doing so you stop indirectly enabling the vile and abusive crap, and you’ll feel great about taking an important stand. That’s how I’d carry it.

That's fair. I ask these questions because I think many supporters should reflect on what the actual purpose of having an academy is. When it comes to the pathway to the absolute top level and when most development takes place, there's no clear research consensus on what the most effective route is.

How do you quantify success of an academy? In my book: amount of players who go on to make first team appearances for the club + income from sales of academy player. Academy teams winning competitions, coaches having good reputations, etc. Is any of it really relevant in the context?
