Yes, but you’re wielding scripture to defend yourself from actual intellectual criticism in a way that sounds as if any criticism at all makes the critic “un-Christian.” Perhaps that’s not your intention, but it is how you’re presenting your argument.

A couple of things: Episcopalians are not the only ones occupying the “exception” category. Lutherans, Methodists, UU and UCC all have socially liberal tendencies that reflect the actual teachings of Jesus. Also, your zero sum argument is in bad faith. See: the Good Samaritan.
