This is great.
For the first time ever all the producers of operational surface temperature products will coordinate their 2024 releases on Jan 10.

This includes NASA, NOAA, Hadley Centre/CRU, Berkeley Earth and Copernicus (ECMWF).
🌡️ 2024 saw repeated record breaking temperatures.

📈On 10 January, we're releasing the Global Climate Highlights, covering the key data from the 2024 climate, including temperature, sea ice and greenhouse gas d#CopernicusClimatelimate

Optimist: the cup is ½ full

Pessimist: the cup is ½ empty

Proponent of dangerously incorrect carbon accounting: half of the cup has water in it, and the other half has avoided water in it. Therefore, the cup has achieved net zero water.

The C++ atmosphere model EAMxx (aka SCREAM) has had its development moved back to the main E3SM repo after about 6 years on its own. github.com/E3SM-Project...
FINAL eamxx downstream merge! by jgfouca · Pull Request #6761 · E3SM-Project/E3SM
The scream/eamxx fork has been archived (frozen). All new scream/eamxx development will happen in the E3SM repo. [BFB]
