There is so much rooftop solar in South Australia that at times it supplies the whole state's needs. It's time the U.S. cut red tape so distributed energy can proliferate.

Thanks @mzjacobson.bsky.social for the inspiration for today's column. #greensky 🔌💡 #solar

Fortunately, the decision tree allows them to take context into account (note the AND) - not defending any of the crap they are doing, but if the context is not DEIA, it won't be flagged - just noted as to why it is not flagged under the Exec Order. But all of this is awful and bigoted.

Thanks - no gas except for the cooktop and tankless hot water now. Heat pump replaced an old gas furnace. I've followed you but it doesn't let me DM you. I posted the components for someone earlier today - here they are if it add any insight. I'll chang schedule to a smaller range and slower ramp.

We've had it at 68 morning and evening, 65 during the day, 55 overnight. I've experimented with moving it to 65 overnight so there's less of a drop, but, got to say, my sleep score's being ruined by a warm room. Here's the equipment:

Hey #greensky - #heatpump question for someone... are we best to leave the heat pump at a constant temp? Some sites say so and this is what daily power use now looks, but we like cooler home at night and when away. I just got the heat pump installed, and total power bill went up by >$100/month.

Proof my taste is impeccable: the car I loved most at the Mercedes museum was one of two made to these specs and the other sold for a record-setting 135 Million Euros. Sweet ride.

Grateful for Marin’s open space and water district. Public utilities never looked so good.

Sat at a cafe recently in the 6th and LOVED how quiet the street was compared to a few years ago - electric buses, cargo bikes, scooters and a few cars. Ahhhh....

I've done it - deactivated my X account.

Back to double-digit followers (I coulda been a contender!) on a platform with harder-to-follow conversations and less interaction - hope that can change.

My novel is set in the near future, and I used this nifty tool from IPCC/ NASA to see what their climate futures look like. The five sections on the right are different scenarios - bottom one is best case if we start taking massive action to decarbonize today.

My father was in Mawson - overwintered 1958/59 and they had a fun mystery newsletter that was posted. Much speculation in his journal re who it was. They also tried to brew beer and ginger beer and nearly blew up a shed that one of the sled dogs was in…

More bloody borealis pics that look good only because of a long time exposure. Nothing visible to the naked eye.
Aurora from near San Rafael, CA.

#aurora from Hamilton Field, Novato. iPhone 13 Pro, night mode. Not really visible to the naked eye - more of a slightly light sky look.

And two years ago they celebrated their 125th anniversary by supporting 10 women doing various things related to the Antarctic and Everest with a gift of $12,500 each to counter the gender bias of their earlier sponsorships. Cool company and I was lucky to be a recipient.
