The sinks are dynamic, spatially variable and sensitive to anthropogenic factors. More effort is needed to support them.

Sounds like the risks massively outweigh the benefits, which seem to be minor improvements in convenience.

It’s a tempting thought but could be other factors at play - administrative burden, - research funders wanting quick and demonstrable results, - demand for near market solutions….

I suspect it’s more complex. There are a lot of folk who feel alienated and disempowered by corporate nonsense that’s dressed up as touchy feely wokey stuff.
