The Town of Kirkland and the Village of Clinton (in the Town) in Oneida County, New York, have both adopted the New York State Climate Smart Communities pledge.

The Kirkland/Clinton Climate Smart Community task force will be at the Clinton Farmer's Market on 7/24, 8/7, and 8/24. Stop by to see us! And enter raffles for a Red Maple, a rain barrel, and a compost bin.

It looks like the Town of Kirkland has completed enough activities to qualify it for bronze certification. The appropriate documentation has been submitted to the state. After review, we hope to receive our Climate Smart certification within a couple of months.

Presentation by Alexis Goldsmith, Organizing director of Beyond Plastics, of two proposed NYS bills that can help to reduce plastic pollution. Both would provide financial benefits to Town & Village.
