My Total War: Three Kingdoms campaign somehow ended up following a pretty historically accurate path. Cao Cao “restored” the Han Empire by cornering it with a strong army (here, seventeen legions) loyal only to himself, supposedly to protect the Emperor, who was effectively a hostage.
