I'm honestly confused by Climate Fiction Prize choices. "Ministry of Time" has barely any #cli-fi elements, and Orbital already won Booker. What truly disappoints me: Tim Winton's "Juice" - a #climate-fiction that moved me deeply - missing the cut. #clifi lit in #books needs better recognition.

This Guardian piece inspired my new article "Climate-Fiction Is Contemporary Fiction"! As they note, "climate" isn't fictional anymore. I argue we should keep the #climate-fiction label to spotlight stories engaging with #climatechange meaningfully. #cli-fi isn't niche- it's essential #books #clifi
Climate-Fiction Is Contemporary Fiction

I think that #Orbital by Samantha Harvey will snag the #ClimateFictionPrize. It’s got a poetic take on Earth’s beauty, but with some iffy geopolitical timing. Definitely a #climate-fiction book, though not quite a masterpiece. Still, it’ll take the win. #cli-fi #books #climatechange #Orbitalbook

I’m calling it now: #Orbital by Samantha Harvey will win the #ClimateFictionPrize. A unique blend of lyrical praise for Earth and questionable geopolitical timing. It's certainly a #climate-fiction book, but a masterpiece? Hardly. Still, it'll win. #cli-fi #books #climatechange #Orbitalbook
