I recently read the first book in the series (in terms of publish date). I have no idea how you turn that into a series outside of an anthology with each episode or two being a different cast of characters. Good book though. Way easier and more fun read than I expected.

To be clear, I understand the post was satire. I'm responding not to it, but the sentiment it mocks

This has been said by more idiots than I care to count more times than I care to count. If the Romans had been as xenophobic as some would have liked, they would be a forgotten kingdom

Would love acquiring Donovan. An upgrade at whichever position struggles, LF or 2nd. And Noah Caneron feels like a great fit in STL. (Obviously not rooting for him to leave KC, but we do what we must)

I'd still like to see a (more costly) trade for another bat, but worst case scenario, they now have a floor of not embarrassing outfield, which means they don't have to overpay out of desperation at some point.

They almost gave them a first down on that ill advised punt block attempt

I think it's the right call. Force them to either give up on the drive (a win) or call timeout and save one of yours if they don't convert (a win).

Although seeing quintessential Bronx guy outside of Yankees stadium, yelling something in the most stereotypical Bronx way possible, is one of my favorite memories from that trip

I'm from the midwest. The first time I visited NY (mid 2000's), I was astounded by how helpful and kind everyone was. We were navigating the subway, and as we started discussing which stop to get off at, etc, someone would immediately jump in politely and help us map our route. Happened repeatedly.

A lot of good aspects to the game. But the visuals were probably the best

Also, an expected (though not guaranteed) end date of his career.

I feel like the group that eats at Denny's more than once every two years is exactly the type to sign up for rewards programs at a fast casual chain restaurant. (No shade against them intended.)

Am I wrong to worry a little about what he'll look like after not playing for basically a year and a half? He's been able to practice and all, but still...

Do that more

I know the A's aren't terrible, but 0-4 against a below .500 team is still rough

I'm assuming you're talking about MLB The Show, but this very much sounds like an announcement about some big time guests for the podcast

@flophousepodcast.com, what would the Cassettis say to this? (It's even about Elliott's favorite baseball team.) Sorry, just awkwardly attempting to smash two of my favorite podcasts together, presumably to no one's benefit.

I want to be mad at someone! Someone tell me who I should be mad at!

Mina Kimes, a woman who absolutely understands statistics and probability and how best to apply them to sports (particularly, but not exclusively, professional football) unleashing a horde of followers who do not. Diabilolical

Who also coached in 2024 when they were really good at it. (Thanks @dblesky.bsky.social ). I guess trying to find meaning in this world is a fool's errand?
