I totally understand that. I am still learning to manage it all, but I find that when I give myself some space to heal, and triage the must-dos, I find the energy and focus will come, even if I have to tell myself, “Just sit down and do it, Christine. Don’t think, just do.”

I’ve freely given away so much of my energy away over the past thirty years, I have finally learned to be more objectively discerning in how and where I should expend it.

Oh, I excelled at beating myself up about it! At some point in the past two years, I realized that most everything wasn’t actually dire or critical and the pressure on me was self-created. I take care of what actually must be done and assess the rest.

I have learned to allow myself those days. To lean into them understanding that my brain requires them to recover from overstimulation.
