Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 roared through Severance, hammer blows and all. The program opened with the U.S. premiere of Geoffrey Gordon’s “Mad Song,” featuring Cleveland Orchestra Solo English Horn Robert Walters, and was led by Tugan Sokhiev in his Cleveland Orchestra debut.
