The land needs regenerating to make up for the utter devastation of Britain's ecosystem where hardly a trace of the ancient woodland and rainforest is left & the depleted soil -- with a small proportion given to housing where it makes sense to do so. As a % of the land mass, it doesn't take much.

Could run a lot smoother on what? Not the 2 yr old family computer in the corner. Not everyone got to be a "gamer" with constantly up to date hardware when a PC cost like $2K in 90's dollars & its primary use was business. Hardware became obsolete VERY quickly!
