Two in three inmates in Marcy Correctional Facility told a watchdog group in 2022 that they witnessed or experienced race-based abuse by staff.

The fatal beating of Robert Brooks by NYS Correctional officers at Marcy Correctional Facility must be seen as a lynching.

Brooks was Black man, handcuffed, and, based on video evidence, showed no provocation for the actions of 13 white officers who beat him to death.
