This has been one of the great unspoken truths about Texas; for all Abbott et al’s rhetoric and migrant flights to blue states, Texas is massively dependent on the work done by undocumented immigrants. Rather than demonizing them, make a path to legalization. Put up or shut up I say!

So in his own small minded way Vought helped to set conditions for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 as he saw the U.S. wobbling on military aid in 2019. Trump got impeached over this of course.

If you dig into him, he was at OmB back when Trump in his idiocy tried to extort Zelensky to find dirt on Joe Biden. He had this crazy idea that Ukraine was somehow involved in the Russiagate issue. Anyway he directed OMB to withhold the aid (ie directed Vought) until Ukraine found said dirt.

It is truly amazing. I was starting high school when they were launched. I am now nearing retirement. Yet they go on. They will long outlast us.

I love how JWST brings out the nests of newly forming stars which weren’t as visible in the Hubble images. JWST is a truly astonishing instrument and a great credit to all who worked on it.

Space is incredibly beautiful and humbling. As we struggle with our human civilization teetering on the cusp of self immolation, we need the cosmic perspective. We are small and often fearful but that doesn’t mean we can’t strive for a place in this wondrous universe. We must grow up.

Tony Fauci is a personal hero and one of the greatest biomedical scientists of all time. His work on HIV/AIDS was absolutely pivotal in taking it from a lethal disease to a treatable disease. His work communicating on Covid19 saved many lives despite the needless politicization. Thankyou Tony!
