I'm seeing some confusion about the Consulate's fall on what is now Avishkar (formerly Kaladesh), especially surrounding Aether Revolt. Here's some clarity!
Pre-Kaladesh (the set), the Consulate was a largely mild government. They skewed authoritarian and had a corruption problem.
