The U.S. is building clean energy half as fast as needed, and 2023 was the slowest pace of new wind development in a decade. By 2030, the pace of new wind and solar additions in the U.S. must increase nearly 4-fold.

In 2023, Governor Whitmer signed PA 233 to streamline permitting for large-scale renewable energy projects. Despite attempts to roll back reforms, 73% of Michigan voters support speeding up clean energy approvals.
