A lot of media outlets are complaining about the Democratic Party supposedly caving to the Republicans on the shutdown. This take is exactly why armchair legislators are predictably wrong about basically everything. These are people who would happily allow mothers to starve to win political capital.

Almost 70% of large cities are in Democratic run states yet 7 of the 10 cities with the highest violent crime rate are in states run by Republicans. Democrats are just better at governing.

There are a large number of rural districts that depend on agriculture who voted Republican only to be screwed by the tariffs. Time to turn them all back blue. #GreatBlueFlood
