Catalyzing resilient solutions for a cleaner future.
We’re advancing progress across 5 key fronts:

1️⃣ Cutting methane to slow near-term warming
2️⃣ Expanding the clean energy toolkit — from renewables to fusion
3️⃣ Aligning climate policy with economic growth
4️⃣ Building regionally tailored partnerships
5️⃣ Strengthening trust across the global energy system

Our message to global leaders at #COP30:

⚡️ We need more energy, not less
➕ We need more climate solutions, not fewer
🌎 One size does not fit all
🤝 Inclusion and cooperation are essential
✅ Accountability is critical

In particular, allowing a reliance on international carbon credits for meeting the domestic climate target could put effective decarbonisation in jeopardy at home and abroad, and potentially lead to higher decarbonisation cost overall.

With @EIB committing +50% of its financing to climate and environment, and aiming to mobilise €1 trillion in clean resilient investment this decade, the mandate is there.

For implementation, financing decisions must reflect a technology-open, risk-resilient decarbonisation approach.

CATF has advocated for support to a broader suite of climate solutions throughout the process - including CCS, nuclear, fusion, clean hydrogen and next-generation renewables. Until now, only a small number of projects in these areas have received EIB support.

To unlock the role of nuclear energy in Europe’s clean energy transition, CATF called for:

✅ An EU-wide nuclear strategy
✅ Cohesive licensing and financing frameworks.
✅ Market reforms that value reliability and complement renewables
✅ A stronger workforce and supply chain
October 10, 2025 at 9:06 AM
Stakeholders highlighted key challenges:

▪️ Fragmented EU policies and licensing slow deployment
▪️ Frameworks fit large reactors, not SMRs
▪️ Limited financing and uncertain state aid processes
▪️ Market rules undervalue clean firm power
