I grew up in Toledo, listening to and watching a lot of Detroit radio and TV stations. I never heard it pronounced with 3 syllables.

Kent State by Derf Backderf @derfbackderf.bsky.social is a terrific graphic novel about the shootings in 1970.

Super interesting! Why did you flip the rats in the first panel between stage 1 and stage 2?

I’m a homeowner. What can I do to improve indoor air quality and not substantially raise my utility bills? I live in Ohio, I’m not going to open windows in January.

I’m so grateful for your podcast. It’s been a very helpful companion during many long, boring, and depressing days while I’ve been cleaning out the house of an elderly relative.

Thanks for your thoughtful response! It makes sense that a city a tourist would like is different than a city that’s great for the residents. I love living in Cincinnati, Ohio. But I wouldn’t put it in on a list of places to visit in the U.S.

As an American who has only been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London, I’d love to know your other top ten best cities in the UK.

But it’s in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky! Super convenient the next time you’re visiting Cincinnati.

James is brilliant. The audiobook narration by Dominic Hoffman is equally brilliant.

I loved the 3 books in Neal Stephen’s’ Baroque Cycle. Volume 1, “Quicksilver,” mostly takes place between 1655 and 1673. It’s not really funny, but it’s a real page turner.

Columbia Township (shown in red) in Hamilton County, Ohio is pretty wild.

Mimestream offers a free two week trial if you to give it a test drive. And you can pay $5 a month if you want a longer trial period. For less than $1 a week it’s been worth it to me.

I’ve been a huge fan of the books, and I loved the show! I’m really looking forward to new episodes. Is there any chance we’ll be able to buy Murderbot action figures like we see in the credits?

When I hear people pushing some big, complicated conspiracy, I always think about the fact that the Watergate break-in was discovered by a security guard who noticed tape that had been placed over door locks. Doing stuff in secret and keeping it secret is hard!
