My goal is to be as kind as I can, but still curb-stomp racists, bigots, sexist, & anti-LGBTQIA+ jerks, & fight for abortion rights

I've just finished a phase of trying to watch every film and tv version of The Picture Of Dorian Gray, and I agree with your opinion.

I wish that Lubitsch had tackled it. It would have been divine.

I saw a still shot of Allan Nazimova from Salome in a book about silent movies when I was a teenager, years before the film was widely available. It left such a deep impression on me.

When I did finally get to see the actual film, it didn't disappoint one bit. It was phenomenal!
a black and white photo of a woman wearing a crown of pearls .
Alt: Alla Nazimova does what she does so well in the 1922 silent version of Salome. It's hard to even describe it. She's wearing a black sleeveless dress, she has on some kind of headdress thing that is black at the base but has white pearl looking things attached to the ends that stick out from her head. They seem to glow and they jiggle enticingly with her every movement. She tosses her head in a flippant, way that is chock full of attitude, as she looks over her shoulder.

Is there a mayonnaise region in France where real mayonnaise comes from, and everything else, from everywhere else, is just sparkling fry sauce that's kinda pitiful by comparison?

(Said with a wink and silly grin.)

I live in Texas and can attest that it tastes like desperation, frustration, and a lack of human rights for women and LGBTQ+ folks.

Whether or not that all blends well with pepperoni, I couldn't say, but it's a classic when paired with barbecue flavors.

I think it's a still from video footage.

For sure!
Reading the Bible cover to cover in my teens did more to turn me atheist than almost anything else.

The contradictions, the hypocrisy, the heinous stories of it, melded with the hypocrisy and hatred of the church members and leaders, to send me running as far away as I could get.
