I find little beauty in Southern culture and history, despite having an ancestry there that predates the Revolutionary War. I gave up trying to change things down here long ago. Loved living outside the South and only returned when I retired to be close to my elderly mother.

Look at their Presidential vote. (Texas? Seriously? It’s as fascist as Florida.) Regardless, there is still not a single Southern state with which I would be proud to be associated…..

NC is the ONLY Southern state that is even remotely close to being purple….

Not nearly enough….

I grew up in the South. When I left, I banished this word from my vocabulary. I refuse to let it back in. I do not want my speech to indicate I’m a native Southerner. (Lost the accent, too, of course.)

I’m another Southerner who worked to lose their accent, and I love that no one knows I grew up in the South! I do not want to be associated with that part of the country.

What a complete and utter disappointment Fetterman is….

It’s not justified, but it is at least partly due to their parents’ votes. Votes have consequences.
