For just starting out, depending on your budget, my suggestion (~$2k) would be something like…
- Klipsch RP-600M speakers
- an integrated amp (Schiit Ragnarok)
- OR separates (Schiit amp, preamp, dac, phono pre)
- Audiolab or Cambridge Audio Cd player
- U-Turn or Fluance turntable

Keep in mind that your room acoustics will also be a determining factor in how ‘big’ to go because your room is what it is and higher end equipment may not matter as much. You can read/watch all sorts of stuff online but always remember that many of the things reviewers hear is very nuanced

Check out USAudiomart.com for some great deals… I’ve had really good success with it. Your budget will definitely drive suggestions. From personal experience I would suggest starting small and then try getting some used ‘upgrades’ over time. If you can’t really tell the difference then stay put.
