Always an honor to be able to attend Wichita State's annual Memorial 70 remembrance ceremony. Beyond the service itself, the best part is always seeing how many of our student-athletes attend in support of the families and survivors.

Tip of the cap to all who took part in yesterday’s Shocker Athletics Mental Health Summit. Terrific panel of WSU alums who spoke to challenges student-athletes often face. And the 75 student-athletes attending were clearly locked in on a critically important discussion! #WeSupportU

"This has been a long time in the making," (Maas) said. "I did the math the other day. It's been a little over 600 days since my last collegiate match."
Injury sidelined Gabi Maas in 2024 for Wichita State volleyball. Off the court, she contributed in many ways to last season's NCAA bid. “I felt a lot of guilt,” she said. “Mentally, not being there for my team. It was really, really challenging to have to watch.”
