Not looking for romance, don't need to get richer, already married to a beautiful Asian woman.
Went for a gratitude walk this morning, to see what cool things were in the world around me. Was not prepped for this level of cool. I'm not using a camera with a good wildlife lens. This is from my cell phone. She is in a no hunting zone and she knows it.

Starting to see pillars.

We were under heavy cloud for last night's aurora, but tonight we have clear skies. Shooting what I hope is star trails with the aurora.

Last time I was out here to shoot star trails I left shake reduction on, and the stars looked like they should switch to decaf.

Out here doing some night sky photography, and there's a massive buck somewhere on the other side of the road snorting at me.

If you don't hear from me, know that I died by venison.

Folks who own cameras, what are some challenges you face that you'd like help with?

I'm trying to put together an ebook and class to help the beginning photographer figure out how to use their cameras. Please share this post so I can get more feedback.

While the world is full of outrage, it is also full of whimsey. This morning somebody's lawn inflatable became a hot air balloon and went flying over Dexter, MI. Many of us were very confused on our morning walks.

Found this groovy little flower yesterday on a walk into town. #bloomscrolling

The tipping point for getting a 3D printer was the ability to quickly design display fixtures like this picture frame stand. We have a pop up market Saturday and can't use our regular display. This lets me put small framed prints on a stand on a table.

One of the great joys of summer is taking my morning coffee outside with the cat. It's very important to her, but she expresses that importance by sitting around the corner of the house from me.

If I go in she'll want back in the house.

Got a selfie with The Mayor, aka Lenny. He lives around the corner, so I don't see him that often. But back in June he spent the day with me while I did some woodworking in the garage. Lenny and I are buds now, and he makes the trek down the street to see me if I'm out.

Posting some cool things, because I spent the last three days at an art fair battling high heat and severe weather. And the whackadoodles. Three street corner preachers with portable amplifiers, and one guy with a beef against veterinarians. He had a sandwich board, for extra crazy.

Today's bit of cool for your #bloomscrolling needs are these flowers I found on my way to get coffee this morning.

In cool things that happened, I have this photo of our local hawks as I was leaving work.

In Things That Are Cool today, we have this pair of hawks who have been on this telephone poll all morning. They were having a sing off when I came into the office this morning.

It's true that we are governed by the whims of morons and megalomaniacs, but this has always been true. The secret to not giving in to despair is to seek out the things that are good in the world. This morning it was cool flowers, especially the ones with exciting bugs.

I'm having a terrible case of the I Don't Wanna, so I'm sharing some photos of peonies from my walk in Nichols Arboretum this morning.

Spring has properly sprung when my cat and I can spend the afternoon on the deck.

Trying to shoot some star trails tonight. If you don't normally spend a lot of time outside at night, you hear some cool stuff. Eagles are expressing their displeasure about something. The geese are telling them to put a sock in it. And there is an owl looking for love.

Remember, our country is governed but the intersection of the most venal and stupid people that could be found, so you're going to have to make your own joy. This morning I did it by getting out and sunrise and enjoying the hoar frost on the brush in the park.

Poor time management means I didn't get the long nature walk I wanted this morning. But I did enjoy myself and see cool stuff.

I got into #photography because I wanted to photograph waterfalls. Based on what we did this weekend, I may be back in business as a waterfall photographer. Guess we'll see how folks react in the market, but we've got shows coming up in Ohio.

Spent the weekend in #hockinghills with my wife. Now I understand why folks from Ohio always rave about it.
