Wander Wednesday!

This week we travel to the city of Chefchaouen in Morocco! It's nicknamed "The Blue City" as it's medina, or the inner walled part of the city used for defense in medieval warfare, is painted blue and white.

You can also find many traditional fountains throughout the city.

Foodie Friday!

This week we travel to the island of Rhodes in Greece to have a bowl of Pitaroudia.

These patties are created from squished chickpeas or potatoes combined with tomato, onions, mint, and cumin. Hence their distinct orange appearance.

The key components of a delicious tomato bredie besides the obviously named ingredient are mutton ribs, chilli powder, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. If you ever visit South Africa, be sure to try the dish on a bed of rice! (2/2)

Food Fridays!

Continuing our expedition in South Africa, we have a delicacy known as tomato bredie. The term bredie in Malaysian meant spinach. However the Afrikaans adapted version of the word translates to stew. To adapt to local crops, tomatoes were used in place of spinach. (1/2)
