After 1987 democratization, early DPP yrs, the Black list was lifted-he & friends were finally able to return to Taiwan. Emotional time. My father passed, but I’m proud that he was a Taiwan freedom fighter.The fight is still happening-I support the friends who actively fight for Taiwan Independence!

My dad Andrew Yeoh-Yih Lee in the 3rd row,was black listed for about 20 yrs. Growing up, we would go to Taiwan with our mom or by ourselves. As a kid, we demonstrated for Taiwan Independence on the steps of the Capitol. One time he came home beat up by a KMT? gang, bloodied, bruised, glasses broken.
