Nova Scotia has a long and rich military history, and I was proud to stand alongside veterans, service members, families, and neighbours to remember those who fought for peace, freedom and democracy, and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Lest we forget.

The Houston government claims it is prioritizing long-term care, but workers have been waiting years for a fair contract. It’s time to end the delays and return to the bargaining table. The people who care for our loved ones have waited long enough.

Recognizing the epidemic of intimate partner violence is just the first important step. Organizations on the front lines of helping women and children escape and heal from gender based violence need epidemic-level support and sustained, committed funding to continue this important work.

At a time when we see much division the most powerful thing we can do is come together to learn, talk, and build understanding.

Women deserve health care that helps them stay well instead of being forced to wait until things reach a crisis level. That’s why New Democrats have proposed practical solutions to ensure that women have the health care they deserve, including expanded menopause, midwifery, and endometriosis care.
