Yesterday, a fire in Northwest #GuineaBissau 🇬🇼 destroyed the homes of 12 families, including all rice stock for the rest of the year. I'm close to one of the families and have decided to launch a crowdfunding: gofund.me/acf14d45

Apart from the fact that the IFRC is still using the words "natural disasters" when extensive scientific research explain how these are socially and politically constructed, this piece clarifies why dead bodies rarely pose a health risk in this context. https://bit.ly/3EH4uFu

I've taken some time to write my first post... I feel that it will be hard for many people and institutions to move to BlueSky, particularly my networks across Guinea-Bissau and West Africa. What are your thoughts about others leaving Twitter? I guess it's a process. We are here to make it happen.
