The same can be said about messages we are sending to Russia.

If we go down to this level (some random oral phrases from politicians), then I can basically justify any narrative in geopolitics. That’s just ridiculous. So why do we even need treaties and agreements then? Let’s just throw them out and agree on everything on the fly during discussions.

Key phrase "...took place orally...".

Just because someone unofficially promised something about NATO? Where does it end then? Should RU be allowed to claim anything all the way to Berlin? How about Russia keeps its current territory and just gtfo from its neighbours?

To be more precise, why are you acting like Russia has any right to demand something from the Baltics? That’s a completely twisted way to frame it.

It was done by Ukraine with approval of US, not by the Baltics nor Nordic countries. So why is Russia now trying to use this as an excuse to escalate things with the Baltics?

It basically begins

Just save this note for later — Russia will claim they’re being blocked in the Baltic Sea by NATO, complaining about lost access. Never mind that they keep sabotaging undersea cable infrastructure. No one will blink an eye when they start spinning a narrative about Baltic countries and sea access.

That's not the fear, that history based decision making.

But Western people struggle to understand how the Russian mindset works, and that’s the biggest problem. Combine this with Sachs' victim-blaming narrative, and you get exactly what Russia wants — open doors for future annexations.

Peace with Russia is only possible through strength — the only language they understand. Without that, invasions of neighboring countries will keep repeating. And if it’s not because of NATO, they’ll find another excuse, like "neo-Nazis" or calling a nation "artificial."
February 23, 2025 at 5:08 PM
He ignores the perspective of russia’s neighboring countries, which fear nth invasion and choose to join NATO for protection. But no, Sachs views it only through the lens of U.S. influence. Are you really going to convince me that Russia feels threatened by NATO-member Latvia? It's other way around.

Sachs appeared on multiple TV shows with Vladimir Solovyov, which already speaks volumes. He seems blind to Russia's faults and blames the West for everything bad that happens in Europe.

Depends on the language, project type, but usually I don't like longer than ~600 lines.

Indeed, I'm glad I found your account on this platform. I can't use Twitter anymore since Elon went crazy.
